Bionicle MOC - Cassandra by Alex-Darkrai Bionicle MOC - Cassandra by Alex-Darkrai
This MOC has been in progress for about half a year. An on-off work on the rare weekends from university.

I showed WIPs of this to some friends and tried improve the design according to their advice.

Creators Note:
Especially the actual building process gave a me a lot of trouple. I often had to exchange core parts of this MOC for different ones in order to get the desired connection ways to add limbs and armor in the desired way. By now, I can't remember the basic construction of this anymore, it was just a process of adding more and more layers of parts in order to design the anatomy and shapes.
I'm now damn satisfied with the outcome! The 2-shaped spine of her anatomy is pretty cool, in my opinion and I'm very happy with part use. All those different kind of tan colored parts give this MOC the complexity I wanted and the simple color scheme supports that effect even more in my opinion.
I like the arms, they're simple, but I'm sure that some of you won't like them. I'm not sure about them either, but they fit the MOC quite good, in my opinion.

The Creation:
Cassandra is a priestess of the sand tribe and quite skilled in controlling Zesk and Vorox however she wants. Her chants my sound random or imprecise to normal listeners, but they give her the abilities to control the sand around her in large quantities. Moving through sand like swimming through water or moving whole dunes are just examples for her high skills.

For some reason, i sort of got the feeling that she could be inspired by Nidhiki.

Well, he wasn't realy the inspiration ^^;
I really like him, but in this case I just wanted to create something diffenrent from the usual two legged creatures. And when I had that head and torso done it just looked perfect for a spider-like creature xD

True. Also, i have to ask. Is the legs capable of folding in just like on Nidhiki when he switches to flight mode or is this purely a species stuck to the ground?

Well that would have been a little difficult, as the body has quite a little bit of weight, so I had need for the actuators used on the frontal and back legs to support the weight.
So yes, she is stuck to the ground :)
But that's okay, as she can, literally, swim right through it :3

Swim? Now that's a interesting skill to have. Maybe if you got a lot of sand colored and brown bricks and palced them loosely in a big, flat tray with raised edges, you could make a short stop motion video of her "swimming" through the ground.

Well yeah that is possible, but it's not the kind of stuff I do xD
If I had a lot of free time, it'd be a possibility, but I'm currently studying for my masters degree in architecture so it's unlikely that I can find the time to do anything with my MOCs xD
