First of all, I'd like to introduce you to one of my favorite MOCers here on dA: :iconrhymes-shelter:
He's already here on dA for a while, but I think he deserves more attention for what he's doing.
Compared to usual standard humamoid MOCs, he also creates MOCs with an innovativ anatomy and an interesting use of parts. His MOCs are always something different from the usual and I could throw my head on the desk whenever I see the ways he uses the parts, because I didn't have the idea myself!

Here are some examples for what I love about his MOCs:

Gamma by Rhymes-Shelter
This guy is pretty much my current favorite of his MOCs!
I'd say; about 80% of the parts used here would normally be viewed as unuseable by most MOCers!
I myself only used about 50% of them on a MOC yet.
But he made it work! The head look so beautiful unique! I have neither used a Kraana nor an Inika mask in a creative way yet, he used both at the same time.
The torso, the lower body, the lower legs and the upper arms are made of dinosaur parts, I didn't even consider using this part on anything yet, now I do, but I'm afraid of copying him in some way. Using the Akaku Nuva symetrically hasn't ever crossed my mind either, but on his MOC it works out. Using the Tohunga head is just the final bonus. I even had to look for the name of this part, because I never used it before xD
It's pretty impossible to beat this MOC in creative use of parts, because the whole MOC is a creatve use of parts :)

Look at the hands, how the feet parts make up two fingers and the back of the hand. The feet, he's about the first person I've seen using those ball joint part for toes. And these are not even the big highlights! Look at the head! Any ideas what that parts is? I'll tell you: it's part of the Visorak canister! I don't even have that anymore xD
This MOC beatifully shows the way of placing some highlights of part use on one MOC and composing the rest very well, in order to show off the parts in a nice manner :D

Vuurg by Rhymes-Shelter
Another wonderful example for a creative way to create an interesting anatomy for your MOCs :)
Sometimes, bigger limbs make your MOCs look a lot more fascinating :D

Steampunk mech by Rhymes-Shelter
Steampunk is a difficult theme, in my opinion, because making it look steampunk-like needs reduction instead of further elaboration in many cases. This MOC is an example for good steampunk MOC, it has its problems as well, but the bigger part of its properties are very fitting for the theme :)
The right color scheme with a grey color, a brown color and a metal color is there, we have gear sections with rough edges on one side and smooth shapes one the other sides. He even included some interesting parts, like the hockey mask as face and the gear parts from the Bohrok sets on the feet.

These are just MY favorite examples of his work, look over his gallery and find your own favorites as well :)
And also support his work and tell him what you like about his MOCs, as I did, and learn from his example how he uses the parts :D

On another matter; my new semesters is going to start next week! I'm pretty happy about it, because I have a lot of fun studying architecture.
For MOCing, this is a two edged sword; on one side I will need my whole week for university, on the other hand my daily life is planned enough and my head is filled with creativity that my weekends could be more productive than usually. I'm looking forward to that.

So this is all for now!
See you later guys!

I too am in awe at his work ;) Thankfully he's recognised on other sites like Facebook.

I'm glad you wrote this! It was a good read, Alex :D
