First of all, I'd like to introduce you to one of my favorite MOCers here on dA:
He's already here on dA for a while, but I think he deserves more attention for what he's doing.
Compared to usual standard humamoid MOCs, he also creates MOCs with an innovativ anatomy and an interesting use of parts. His MOCs are always something different from the usual and I could throw my head on the desk whenever I see the ways he uses the parts, because I didn't have the idea myself!
Here are some examples for what I love about his MOCs:
This guy is pretty much my current favorite of his MOCs!
I'd say; about 80% of the parts used here would normally be viewed as unuseable by most MOCers!
I myself only used about 50% of them on a MOC yet.
But he made it work! The head look so beautiful unique! I have neither used a Kraana nor an Inika mask in a creative way yet, he used both at the same time.
The torso, the lower body, the lower legs and the upper arms are made of dinosaur parts, I didn't even consider using this part on anything yet, now I do, but I'm afraid of copying him in some way. Using the Akaku Nuva symetrically hasn't ever crossed my mind either, but on his MOC it works out. Using the Tohunga head is just the final bonus. I even had to look for the name of this part, because I never used it before xD
It's pretty impossible to beat this MOC in creative use of parts, because the whole MOC is a creatve use of parts
Look at the hands, how the feet parts make up two fingers and the back of the hand. The feet, he's about the first person I've seen using those ball joint part for toes. And these are not even the big highlights! Look at the head! Any ideas what that parts is? I'll tell you: it's part of the Visorak canister! I don't even have that anymore xD
This MOC beatifully shows the way of placing some highlights of part use on one MOC and composing the rest very well, in order to show off the parts in a nice manner
Another wonderful example for a creative way to create an interesting anatomy for your MOCs
Sometimes, bigger limbs make your MOCs look a lot more fascinating
Steampunk is a difficult theme, in my opinion, because making it look steampunk-like needs reduction instead of further elaboration in many cases. This MOC is an example for good steampunk MOC, it has its problems as well, but the bigger part of its properties are very fitting for the theme
The right color scheme with a grey color, a brown color and a metal color is there, we have gear sections with rough edges on one side and smooth shapes one the other sides. He even included some interesting parts, like the hockey mask as face and the gear parts from the Bohrok sets on the feet.
These are just MY favorite examples of his work, look over his gallery and find your own favorites as well
And also support his work and tell him what you like about his MOCs, as I did, and learn from his example how he uses the parts
On another matter; my new semesters is going to start next week! I'm pretty happy about it, because I have a lot of fun studying architecture.
For MOCing, this is a two edged sword; on one side I will need my whole week for university, on the other hand my daily life is planned enough and my head is filled with creativity that my weekends could be more productive than usually. I'm looking forward to that.
So this is all for now!
See you later guys!

Other art from me? // My current life.
Well,
I haven't written a journal in some time. Probably because I thought there isn't much to talk about from my side, because I'm unable to creat MOCs right now.
But the recent journal Rahiden (https://www.deviantart.com/rahiden) wrote got me thinking about my current life as an artist and that made me realize that I actually DO creat art at the moment.
I'm studying architecture and there are always kind of artistic things I'm working on.
These are also some things I'd like to show people and get feedback on it.
So now the question to my watchers, I apparently have 449 right now (which is kind of A LOT, thanks by the way if you are reading this!);
Are you interested
Going to America!
Hey there,
I totally forgot to mention that on here! I am going to be in America for the next 12 days!
Montreal 27.5.-31.5. (Canada)
Boston 31.5.-2.6. (USA)
New York 2.6.-7.6. (USA)
That's the data for whoever wants to know! Maybe anyone nearby wanna meet up? Doesn't happen all that often to be around there for me, so I might as well use the chance!
I'm gonna try to check my mails as often as I can while I'm there, so just send a message if anyone is interested!
Bye for now! An wish me luck with the journey!
Quitting MOCing?
I have been thinking about it for the last few months!
I wasn't really able to produce anything new or anything I'm satisfied with. Even Yevrah was more of an experiment where I tried something new, but it wasn't the usual MOCing which I prefer to do.
Which is why I really thought about leaving back my parts and MOCs.
Until this weekend; I had originally planned to spend the evening with some friends and went home from university for that reason. Sadly it got too late and I wasn't able to meet up with my friends, so I stayed home with nothing to do for the first time in a while.
I grabbed some parts, as always, and tried a bit around. Nothin
Special colored parts?
After getting my special colored bionicle parts from bricklink, I realized that I have absulutly no idea about how many special colored parts are out there and where they are.
Are most of them in amarica?
Or in Europe?
Are they in the hands of collectors?
Or are they used on MOCs?
Does Lego still have some?
Are there still some being used as prizes in contests?
I've never been on bzpower and have never been to any events where such parts were distributed. That makes me pretty sad, I'd love to have taken part in such events and I'm highly interested in giving special colored parts a nice MOC to being shown off on.
As I did with Lewa Ma
