Bionicle MOC - Deep Star

Description

In his hunger for power, Zero Star (chosen name for my personal MOC) dove down into the deep dark sea in order to meet the makuta Chiriko. This is the reult of their meeting. Zero Star absorbed Chiriko and became Deep Star.

The creation:
As the text above says: I took Chiriko apart in order to create this one. I basically did that because I got some new glowing parts and I tought I could create something better than Chiriko, so I started from the scratch again.
And to sum that up:
I used four Takadox heads, two Gadunka heads, one Nocturn head, thirteen glowing Hydruka back plates and some other glowing details parts.

Creators Notes:
I'm damn proud of this! It took me quite some time to get everything the right way. I started with the head, which was done pretty fast. The upper torso with upper arms took some time, because I had to pay attention to the moveability of the arms. The lower arms took also some time, but now I'm quite satisfied. The lower torso gave me headaches, because it was too unstable at first, so I just made everything a bit thicker to make it more stable. I really like the legs, they only took me a day, but they came out quite well in my opinion.
Oh yeah, and he's glowing in the dark as seen in the first two pictures. I really love his eyes in the first picture, they look totally psycho xD

Alex-Darkrai's creations never cease to amaze me, and this is no exception.

As is often the case with Alex's MOCs, he focuses on one key aspect and squeezes all the quality he can from it. In case it wasn't obvious enough, the focus here is glow-in-the-dark pieces, which (speaking from experience) are much harder to use than one might imagine. Alex, however, has managed to pull off the colour scheme and shape excellently, and I am still left in wonder as to how everything is connected. If I could award 6 stars in Originality and Technique, I would.

Of course, nothing is without faults, but I shall have to keep this section short because there isn't much to write about! My sole suggestion for this MOC would be in the presentation. While Alex certainly shows off several angles of the creation and its nocturnal tendencies, I feel that he should remind everyone that this is an articulated model, not a solid sculpture - perhaps he could show off how sturdy the creation is, as well as its flawless aesthetics?

All in all, Deep Star is not only an excellent design in itself, but it is also a perfect example of Alex-Darkrai's work. I am sure even greater things shall be produced by his wonderuflly creative hands!
